On May 12th, 2008, a massive earthquake struck Wenchuan, a county in Sichuan Province,
China. The earthquake, which measured 8.0 on the Richter scale, caused widespread destruction and claimed the lives of over 69,000 people. The Wenchuan Earthquake, also known as the Great Sichuan Earthquake, is one of the deadliest earthquakes in Chinese history.
